With more than 120 patents, Janick Simeray is SimerLab's intellectual property! He holds Ph.D. degrees in
electronic and mechanical engineering from ENSA (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Electronique et de ses
Applications). His Ph.D. dissertation was the Laser Range Finder, using the Larsen Effect for which he was given
the prestigious Prix Yves Rocard award by Société Française de Physique in 1994. From his early college years,
he knew that physics was the science that could lead to the answers to his questions and through physics he
would able to discover a new world to which he could bring his imagination and creativity to life.
Janick plays tennis, enjoys reading, listens to world music, and has a passion for almost anything outside the
